This song came out forty-two years ago, and it wasn’t until YESTERDAY that I finally realized who he was actually making fun of. Also, some of you may not remember this, but back in 1984 most white folks treated marijuana as more problematic than cocaine. It was something the bad people did. And here we have the king of family friendly comedy music casually dropping a weed reference on the same album as “Eat It.” I’m gonna say this real loud for the people in the back – “Weird Al” Yankovic might just be our nation’s most precious national treasure.
