Pudding

Me while watching The Great British Baking Show: “Any nation with so many specific rules for so many similar forms of cake is a ridiculous place full of ridiculous people.”

Also me: “Alexa, search deals on round trip airfare from CVG to Heathrow.”

I am repeatedly astonished at the variety, specificity, and complexity of the baked goods of the British isles. I understand that their cultures have been around a couple of thousand years longer than ours has, but the shit these people are willing to put in baked goods never ceases to surprise and confuse me. They could easily remove all the French, German, and Scandinavian recipes from these challenges and make twenty more years of this show using British bakes alone. And I want to eat all of them.
