Six new frames of the upcoming guaranteed box office golden child Spider-Man 3 were re- leased today. That's right: six whole frames. Can you believe it?! That's ¼ of a second! Its like getting a really short version of the film absolutely free! Click the pic to come on in and check 'em out.

I'll be honest; I wasn't expecting much. Nicolas Cage as a fiery motorcycle demon who wreaks vengeance upon the wicked? I'm not buying it. Then again, the movie couldn't possibly have been as bad as the trailer made it out to be. To tell you the truth, I really didn't know what to expect. So what's the real scoop? And you know you can expect hazardous travel later today with that, you know, that, uh, that blizzard thing. The National Weather Service is calling for a "big blizzard thing!" Yes, they are. But you know, there's another reason why today is especially exciting. The big question on everybody's lips, their chapped lips: do ya think Phil is gonna come out and see his shadow? I found an essay about the Star Wars saga written by Keith Martin about looking at the original trilogy in light of the prequels. I found it to be a very enjoyable read and, regardless of your views of the prequels, it adds a few more shades of interest and illumination to scenes from A New Hope, which is to me one of the few redeeming qualities of the new trilogy - giving us a deeper understanding into the characters of the original trilogy by knowing where they've come from, how they all know each other and what their motives truly are.  I've reproduced the essay here entirely.

This movie is too good. Its too good not to love, its too good not to worship, its too good not to stare at for 116 minutes with a long glistening strand of drool hanging out of my mouth. Its just too damn good.

Sorry, really short on time and can't write up a full post. But, for those interested, here's the full TransFormers trailer (97MB!)… hopefully this doesn't leave Chris convulsing and whatnot.

Wherein Chris resumes his tale of his quest to absorb the divine wonder and breathtaking splendiferousness of The Transformers: The Movie 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD, which has risen from our ranks to light our darkest hour.

Okay, so I haven't seen a single movie this year - I've been preparing for a wedding, which is another way of saying "busy and broke".  Finally, last night, Vickie and I got to rent some movies.  I kept with the spirit of the holidays and stuck with a "freaks" theme: Gothy Freaks (Underworld: Evolution), Cool Freaks (X-Men 3: The Last Stand) and Dead Freaks (Corpse Bride).

I saw this movie on a rack full of other Halloween DVDs for $10, and I was so psyched. I grabbed it, remembering that it was good, remembering how much I liked it way back in 1992. After watching it again, I can't imagine what the hell I'm remembering, because this movie sucks more than (insert your own vampire pun here). 

In our first of the season's Halloween themed articles, and to mark the 21st anniversary of its theatrical debut on October 11, 1985, Sci-Fi Guys horror correspondent Frog Boy reviews the movie adaptation of Stephen King's Cycle Of The Werewolf.  Click the pic to see how much scarier Gary Busey is than other kinds of monsters. The Q is in effect! Ho-ah, let's get up to date on some Sci-Fi movie news.   While there are other movies that I'm more interested in telling you guys about, by my contract with Chris (written in the blood of virgins, which I'm sure you can guess costs a lot) the first movie news bit I have for you is the old Sci-Fi standard, Star Trek.

Hey guys, sorry I've been gone for so long… went away for a week to get hitched and Google buys YouTube and North Korea becomes a nuclear power.  That said, I'm not taking any more vacations for a while!

What is this? A car? No, this is not just a car, friends. You might call it a Transformer.

That’s right! Say hello to Bumblebee from the upcoming Transformers movie. He’s based on the 2008/2009 Chevrolet Camaro concept.

It had a lot to live up to, and a lot of people were just dying for it to fail. The verdict? Its good. It’s real good. Although it did have its flaws, I was not disappointed.
