James, you flatter me... AND I LOVE IT! I promise you this: as soon as I am able to procure a copy of the film I can watch straight through (VHS or DVD; I just can't watch it piecemeal on YouTube), you will get my review, sir. You have my word.

Chris,
Thankyou for that terrific remark about my site on SECRET OF THE INCAS.
Having enjoyed your screamingly hilarious review of IJATOKOTCS (incidentally easily the best ever review on the net I've seen) I would love to read your take on the Heston movie. Even if you slagged it off I wouldn't mind - so long as it made me laugh as much as the one above.

James, thanks so much. Your Secret of The Incas page is AMAZING. I have never seen so much info about the film, and presented so professionally. Most impressive, sir. It was quite a pleasure to read.

Intresting about the duck. I thought I remember my grandfather, a Navy man, telling me that they were in no way suited for ocean travel or turbulent waves as they were essentially just waiting to tip over. Glad to hear that confirmed.

I would have been more okay with Karen Allen being in it if this really were the final movie. But it isn't. Lucas was contracted for five of them, and he's said recently that he's looking at going ahead with the next one. So I guess she'll be back for that one, too.

I also have thought of something new I don't care for about this movie. In Last Crusade both Indy and his dad drank from the Grail. I know the powers of the Grail aren't still in effect since the Seal was passed and the temple collapsed, but as of that point both Indy and his dad were in perfect physical health. The healing powers of the Grail had brought them up to perfect condition. Sure they would continue to age, but any inherent ailments at that point (rogue cancer cells, cellular damage from aging and oxidation, etc.) were erased. Their life clocks had been significantly turned back by the hand of God.

So why was Henry Jones, Sr. dead?

Surely a man of 66 (his age in Last Crusade, born in 1872) who has been cured of all that ails him by the powers of the Almighty could have lasted until he was 85 (his age in Crystal Skull). Why kill him off? I don't see any need for it, and it bothers me. If anything, he and Indy should be two of those random people who live to be 110 or something. I though killing him off was needless and can only serve to hinder future stories. I'd rather he just hadn't been mentioned at all.
