I BELIEVE!!!!!!!!! I just read the realese date in USA Today so I say it’s offical now. Although I’m a bit nervous about that taking Mulder and Scully’s relationship in unexpected directions. They were left in a very shippy situation which indicated for the most part that they were together. If they go away from that in this movie I will be highly pissed.

X-Files 2 Stakes Out July It's official: 20th Century Fox announced on Halloween that a second The X-Files movie is in production, with a release date of July 25, 2008. The sequel reunites stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson under the direction of series creator Chris Carter, who co-wrote the screenplay with former X-Files executive producer Frank Spotnitz. The as-yet-untitled movie is being kept a secret, but Fox said that the story will be a stand-alone mystery that also takes the relationship between Duchovny's Fox Mulder and Anderson's Dana Scully in unexpected directions.

I really didn’t watch that much of Season 9 (the last season) since Duchovny wasn’t in it at all. The name of the episode in which they were killed is Jump The Shark. I thought it was kinda crappy how they killed them too…..they had to sacrifice themselves to save Scully and a bunch of other people. They do make an appearance in the finale as ghosts……telling Mulder hey you wanna do that down wind as he stopped to pee on the way to see the smoking man in the Anasazi village. Of course they try and talk him out of it. If anyone on here has never seen the lonegunman spinoff you should check it out.

Didn’t know if anyone on here knew, but in addition to being a nice guy Dean Haglund really is a serious conspiracy theorist, I think he has a radio show or and internet show or something like that dealing with various conspiracies…..he’s on the whole government did it bandwagon in regards to 9/11

Yeah, what was that about? I didn't get to see a lot of the last two X-Files seasons, so it was a shock during the finale that they were dead. I can't believe they were killed off. I loved those guys. I even met Dean Haglund (who played Langley), who was kind enough to talk with me for quite some time about his time on the show. He even gave me some autographed artwork of his. He was a really great guy.

I stand by my previous post. Of course when/if it ever does see the light of day don’t think I won’t be the first in line to see it, plus buy all the crap associated with it. I am currious though if they are gonna continue with the Mulder/Scully relationship where the series finale left it, with them obviously together. I’m also interested if Dogget and Reyes will be involved in the story. Speaking of the Lonegunmen I really liked the show (Thanks Chris for the DVD’s!) It always pissed me off that Chris Carter felt the need to kill them off at the end of the series.

I think a second movie is a great idea, but I think Mrs. X’s quote from a previous post hits the nail on the head: “… the 2nd x-files movie, which I now believe will come out when Chinese Democracy and the second Blackberry Smoke cd both hit stores…” I’m not gonna hold my breath. I’ll believe this movie is a reality when I see it.

Duchovny Has X-Files Reunion

The X-Files star David Duchovny told SCI FI Wire that he had a reunion lunch with co-star Gillian Anderson and series creator Chris Carter in Los Angeles recently to discuss the long-gestating X-Files big-screen sequel film.

“That was nice,” Duchovny said while promoting his latest film, Things We Lost in the Fire. “I see Chris quite a bit. We live kind of in the same neighborhood. We live within maybe 10 or 15 miles of one another, but I hadn’t seen Gillian in a while. So it was like a reunion. It really was. It was more emotional than I would have thought it was [going to be]. If you spend that much time with people and go through that much, there’s a lot of residual feeling.”

The X-Files 2 is tentatively set to go before the camera in December, with Carter directing, based on a script he wrote with veteran X-Files writer-producer Frank Spotnitz. Duchovny will reprise his role as FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder, and Anderson will return as Special Agent Dana Scully.

The plot remains a secret, but Duchovny expressed his hope that the second feature will recapture the essence of the series, which ran for nine seasons, from 1993 to 2002. It also spawned a spinoff TV show (The Lone Gunmen) and the first movie, The X-Files, which premiered in 1998.

“I want us to go out and do what the show always did best, which is really smart, scary, ultimately ambiguous stuff,” Duchovny said. “I think there’s been a lot of shows and movies that kind of tread the same area, or tried to, and I think we always did it best. And I hope we can go out and do it best again.”

The Bruce Campbell reference was pretty sweet. So was the chick dancing with the chainsaw. These brains rule. These brains suck. These brains cost three-hundred fucking dollars. Let’s eat ‘em.

For some reason, the “Push It” shirt just speaks to me. I probably won’t buy it, but the Voltron shirt may have to be mine. That’s just too cool not to own.
