I can’t tell you why you’re wrong, Mrs. X, because I don’t know. Firefly is, without a doubt heavily Western in both look and genre. Now, the movie doesn’t have much of that beyond the initial heist, but the series is loaded with Western vibes.

Mandy, how exactly do you define “throw down”? Further, you haven’t exactly made your stance on Firefly/Serenity yet – be it for or against?

This ain’t the kind of Sci-fi western I’m looking for. Can someone explain to me why everyone keeps telling me I will enjoy this since I really like sci-fi set in the old west? If anyone can explain this to me I would be eternally greatful. So the next time someone asks me what I am into and I tell them the old west with a sci-fi twist and they say oh you should check out Serinty/Firefly I can tell them why they are completely wrong.

BTW, my fiance and I headed out to some friends’ house this weekend to enjoy the last of some Maker’s Mark and when I asked if they’d seen Serenity it was found that everyone there were huge Firefly fans and they loaded me out the original series – I’ve watched up to the fifth episode now. The first episode, Serenity, is simply amazing. I’ve even gotten Vickie somewhat hooked – while getting groceries at Walmart she made a detour to see if they had Firefly in stock. Verily, she knows the ways of my heart!

I have a clear distaste for Jedi - or at least, any scene in Jedi that takes place on the moon of Endor - or just about anytime Han or Leia talk - but I would never imply that Jedi was worse than The Fecal Menace. I said on the series that "Return of the Jedi is the redemption of Anakin Skywalker and the fall of George Lucas, while Revenge of the Sith is the fall of Anakin and the redemption of Lucas." I didn't say that Jedi was the worst, I said it marked his fall - from that point on, up until Sith, the Star Wars movies were unadulterated turds. Sith was a good movie (wooden and stilted acting aside). Rewatch the episode again and listen to what I said. Your impulsive retort has cost you double. I poop on your head.

Also, thanks for the heads-up on the shiny things to come – will keep an eye out for those.

And wow, Quentin – “Phantom Menace” easily takes the galactic cake for being the most atrocious. I still think “Episode IV: A New Hope” was where the bar was set and none of the others since have met it, even though I do have a tender spot for all three of the original trilogy.

No, its not a quote, its a paraphrase, and you said it on Episode 5, dumb ass! You said it out loud and very clearly on your VERY FIRST FUCKING APPEARANCE ON THE SHOW! Remember, the episode where you went on and on about Revenge Of The Sith, like it was the second coming? You said that 'Return Of The Jedi' was Lucas's downfall, and 'Revenge Of The Sith' was his redemption, or some such nonsense. You said more disparaging things about 'Jedi' being awful, and then you proceeded to give ole Georgey boy a verbal rimjob and teabagging. You were his whore. It was like he was your boyfriend, and you were buttering him up for a good night of assplay. Why do you think we were all looking at you like you were crazy when you said it? It made us all a little uncomfortable, quite frankly. You know, 'cause you're a WHORE. Oh, man, I live for days like this! I knew this would come back to bite you in the ass, and I knew you would try to weasel your way out of it! HA! The world is my McDonalds, and I'M LOVIN' IT!! You can't deny this one, chief. It went on the air! Not only did I and the rest of the Sci-Fi Guys hear you say it, but everyone in the three counties we broadcast to had it piped into their televisions (I'm not saying they were watching, mind you, but it was piped in none the less).
